Uodate: We went to wash the dress today and the bonnet was tucked up inside the dress. Odd, but there nonethelessI received this in the mail today and there was not a bonnet included with the dress & apron as advertised. Super disappointing.I was disappointed when I opened this. It has no waist. It has elastic sleeves and neck, very cheap sewing choices not of the Era. I hope it looks better on. I will be buying from the other company next time, it was much nicer quality. This company has a long wait for delivery compared to others.....not worth the wait or higher price. I just needed a short sleeve dress. This was for my daughter's birthday, she wears period piece dresses daily. My use for this dress is probably a little different than most. I'm a petite adult and needed a comfortable gardening dress and couldn't find one I liked until I found this. The 14-15 yr size fits me (about 5'1', a bit under 100 lbs) well. There is no waist at all in this, you're meant to wear it with the apron. Really pretty fabric with nice details at the neck and sleeves.A nice quality dress, not "costumey" material at all. I'd have loved to have had it for dress up as a kid (I so wanted to BE Laura Ingalls!) but it really does the trick for light outdoor work like gardening where I don't want to risk my everyday dresses and skirts. This worked great for our school's Pioneer Day celebration. I am a 5'2", ~135 lb, 38 yr old women and this fit perfectly. It was comfortable to wear all day. Not see thru. I like that it is a soft cotton fabric. I did steam iron the apron and dress before wearing just to get the packaging wrinkles out. This will definitely be worn yearly for this fun tradition. My daughter absolutely loved this dress. She's worn it as a costume and to school. This dress is cute. My daughter really likes it as well, but unfortunately it's not something she can actually wear out in public. The material used is so thin, it's quite see through. I had her put on a white slip under and it helped, but it is still see through. Also, If you don't wear the apron that comes with the dress it'll look like a Mumu (there is no waist). I'm pretty bummed. $40.00, in my opinion, is way too much for this.My oldest daughter (12) and youngest (6 months) went as Mary had a little lamb for Halloween. This was absolutely perfectEver since my little one got involved in theatre and got to play in a period play for the 1800s, she's been obsessed with old-time clothing. We tested this one out for quality, and it's hard to get her out of it! It fits, is sturdy, and adorable. She made a video of herself swinging around in it talking about how she thinks 'new fashion' clothes are ugly or boring and old-fashioned clothes are beautiful :)
